Sail New England

As a sailing location, New England is hard to beat.

The 700 miles of New England's coastline pass numerous bays, islands and unspoiled rivers, providing easy access to protected anchorages, offering tranquil vistas of sandy beaches, salt marshes, and dense woodlands.

With countless coves, inlets, harbors and marinas, the New England coastline boasts a long and colorful seafaring tradition.

The region extends from the rocky shoreline and the myriad islands of Maine in the north, past historic Boston and Cape Cod, through the Cape Cod Canal and on into Buzzards Bay, with the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard then to the south.

On past the the sailing capital of Newport to starboard and Block Island to port, into the sheltered waters of Long Island Sound, the Connecticut shoreline to the north and Long Island to the south.

At the west end of Long Island Sound, the skyline of Manhattan will finally come up over the horizon.

Cruise from north to south, or pick just one area to explore, and you are guaranteed a wealth ofdiversity.

While there are more destinations for the cruising sailor in the New England waters than we can possibly list, we can offer a few highlights by region:
